It Would be Folly to Miss This One!

When we left Connor in the Siege of Scarn, he had freed his world from the tyrannical rule of Queen Merrill. Connor united the tribes of Elves with the tribes of Dwarfs, a pair that had been sworn enemies for decades, in order to fight against the corrupt and evil forces of Maximus. He brought peace to his land. However, a peaceful life is not in Connor’s destiny. There is a new enemy to fight. One that will threaten his existence. One that will be more terrible than anything he has ever faced, and one that will test his courage and his loyalty to those that he loves.

Connor’s Folly is a great follow up to Siege of Scarn. It takes Connor away from the land where he is known in an effort to save other kingdoms from the malevolent forces of the warlord Kaitomi and his sister Maitoma. The armies that these two creatures rule over are different from anything that Connor has ever seen. Their armies are peopled with both Nightwalkers and Daywalkers, and when Connor and his armies suffer losses, he discovers that his men do not die, but instead rise to fight on the side of Maitoma. Her forces seem impenetrable, and Connor will have to use all of his power if he has any possible chance of defeating her.

As with Siege of Scarn, in Connor’s Folly we are treated to a wonderful world that is filled with monsters and Gods, heroes and villains. Again, Auty’s gift for storytelling shines as he introduces us to new heroes and new and viscious enemies. The battles fought are gloriously bloody and exciting, and each character is rich and well developed.

In Connor’s Folly, Auty weaves a journey that will captivate and excite any fantasy ficton fan. connor’s continuing story builds to a wonderful and intriguing climax that will make it nearly impossible for anyone to wait for the third book.
